Michelle Martel eats, sleeps, and breathes the world of Interior Design. Keeping ahead of the game, Michelle loves to find new, exciting products and design elements to help her clients achieve a space that is more than they ever could have dreamed of. Michelle is a skillful artist – marrying her ample knowledge of Interior Design with years of education in the Furniture industry – creating one-of-a-kind spaces in both residential and commercial environments.
Interior Design is what makes Michelle truly tick, and she has been consulting since 2001. Her business started on the East Coast, migrating to the Midwest in 2011. More recently, Michelle has updated her technical skill set, allowing her to create beautifully detailed floor plans and 3D renderings of a space before it ever exists.
Whether you are planning a large or small project, a consultation is the first step in the design process. The initial Design Consultation consists of a 2 hr meeting in your home or business to discuss your ideas, your vision and your wish list in detail.
These potential design elements and products may be discussed; space planning, color scheme, flooring, lighting and plumbing fixtures, cabinetry, countertops, window treatments, furniture, decor and any other design related questions.
•Design Consultation: new construction or renovation planning
•Color Consultation: paint/finish selection & placement
•Styling: Sourcing and placement of new or existing furniture, fixtures, artwork & accents
•Furniture & Fabrics: Custom furniture, window treatments, accessory textiles, re-upholstery
•Product information/recommendation and service referral upon hiring
Following the consultation, an estimate for design planning will be presented according to your requirements.
Design planning may include any or all of the following services:
•Drawings: AutoCAD or 3D color renderings
•Possible video walkthrough of space upon request with 3D rendering
•As-built and proposed floor plans
•Elevations: conceptual drawings to show custom design such as millwork (built-in cabinetry) or flooring layout.
•Materials and Finishes Choices: flooring, wall tile, countertops, plumbing & electrical fixtures,
hardware, furniture, wallpaper and window treatments.
•Color: paint selection & product specification
Once the construction phase begins, I will work with your contractor and other trades on your behalf to implement the design. Having a main contact, who understands the design and the overall vision, will help to keep the project running smoothly which will help you focus on the things that matter most to you.
•Site meetings and communication with client, contractor, trades and suppliers
•Coordination of installations and services pertaining to design
•Order and arrange delivery of products and furnishings from retainer
